EOC Week 7: What Legal Issues Concern You Most?

What legal issues concern me most?
I am concerned with making more jobs for Las Vegans. The economy is really hurting right now and huge businesses are going bankrupt and closing down. How do you think the small businesses like my dad’s construction company and his plumbing company? He has had to put many people out of a job that have been working for him for twenty one years because he has had to do everything he could to keep them open.
I also take in interest in knowing about the gay and lesbian rights in America. I went to school in the Bay Area and I was there last year when they were protesting Prop. 8. It was a huge deal and I know that were weren’t the only state that was protesting for it. Gays and lesbians should have the right just like any other couple in America to marry under the law. I think that it’s ridiculous that they wouldn’t have that right. They say that they are violating the law but really if you look at straight couples of today’s society the divorce rate is higher than ever. They don’t respect it and the gay and lesbian couples and community respect it because it is a big deal to have a right like that. Or at least I think so.
I am also interested in design copyrights, patents and trademarks because I will be trying to design new products, new logos, names, colors, tag lines, etc. and trying to make all of those brand new and original is very hard to do. So having someone to help figure out what all the ins and outs are around those laws would be very helpful.
